I just recently returned from a wonderful trip to many islands throughout Tahiti! I have seen pictures and thought I understood these islands pretty well but I now know there are small details that make each island and resort special and unique. Truly amazing! I have fallen in love with these awe-inspiring little islands, atolls and motus, I knew I was going to be hooked within a short time!
So many little islands and so many amazing resorts, where to go next! Tahiti is a neat little place if you really want to be up close and personal with the Tahitian people. Tahiti is filled with history, island tours, waterfalls and food trucks where you can eat with the locals, so yummy and inexpensive! The sight of Bora Bora from the plane upon arrival is a lifetime memory that you won’t forget! You truly can’t believe what your eyes are seeing and that you are really there.
I was lucky enough to not only get to stay at the famous St. Regis in Bora Bora but also got to visit 3 other resorts on this awe-inspiring island, each one special and beautiful in their own way. I had the most amazing experience on a tour with Romantic Tours where I was able to touch and be among rays and sharks. What made this so special is that are free to come or leave as they please! I haven't found the right words that do it justice, you have to go to believe.
Need to feel disconnected from the world? Then try a hidden gem like Le Tahaa or Vahine Island. These jewels are remote and perfect for a intriguing little journey of relaxation! Le Tahaa sits on its own Motu, it’s almost like Gilligan’s Island meets a 5 star resort! No glitz and glamour here just an amazing resort built with natural elements to make you feel surrounded by nature at all times. The waters are so shallow here in the lagoon that sea life is abundant and healthy! Step foot on the heart shape island of Moorea and the mountain vista will grab you instantly. Right away I was awe struck by 3 or 4 waterfalls cascading down the mountain as we drove along the rode! I saw passing small villages and people taking nice bike rides along the coast! This is the island for adventures!
I had always wanted to visit the Tahitian islands and it has captured my heart! I sent a message back home to the states that said “Pack your bags, bring the doggies, send money... I may not come home! I had an “Ah Ha” moment and will never forget that moment in time; are you searching for yours it just might be waiting for you in Tahiti! As the Tahitians would say “Ia Orana”; which means hello and have a good day!
